You Ever Think About ‘Dreams’?

I had a dream last night.

I was living and working in Columbia and decided to go trekking through the forest for fun.  I trekked deeper and deeper into the forest and it became drier and drier.

I met a man at had not appeared to be a desert and he showed me some sepia-toned pictures of himself being attacked by a crocodile.  The beast was 10 feet long, charged out of a riverbed and snapped at his tripod.

I leave the man and wander.

I get lost and now my objective seems to be to search for water; not just for myself, but to save people.  I wander further and meet some natives that tell me to wander further.  I find a house and I find a crocodile; only 3 feet long.  I kill it and somehow I know that the mission is over, but I do not feel accomplished.

I know my way back and I meet another native.  I find a nutshell on the ground with a coin in it.  I try to point out the significance, but I’m not communicating it well enough and he’s not even trying to understand.

I make my way back and I’m talking to my friend about something trivial and I’m thinking about what just happened.  Water seemed to be of utmost importance, but why?  It was never needed, and it’s raining right now.

I look up at the sky and falls a blue rain slicker.  I put it on and I wander a Colombian marketplace.  I bump into a man and a woman, both wearing a red version of my new rain slicker, and I ask them if they dropped this.  I ask them if they’re searching for me, and the man responds, “Not anymore.”  He looks dejected and walks through the marketplace and disappear.

I look at my rain slicker and it’s now red.

I wanted to say ‘thank you’, but I didn’t.

Then I woke up.

I look at my clock and realize that I was only asleep for 2 hours.
