Has anyone seen this? It a robot that freaking walks. You might be thinking to yourselves, “Man, this is pretty awesome. I can have a robot butler that can get my morning paper for me.”

DOOD!! You could not be more wrong. This “robot” is being co-developed by Boston Dynamics and DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency). Why am I being so angry with this? If you played any of the Metal Gear (Solid) games, you know that it was freaking DARPA that made the Metal Gears.

You might be thinking: “John, why risk getting a brain hemorrage thinking about how dangerous this robot is? It’s small and looks fairly clumsy.” It’d be so easy to put a gun on one of these things and then we’re screwed. Robots have awesome aim. Make one that’s super-strong and just wait for a radical group of patriots, or nationalist russians, or independently funded paramilitary organizations to steal one of these bad boys and then our only hope will be a rouge bandana-wearing soldier that may or may not exist in the real world.
