[Awesome outdoor seating for summer hot dog eating.]

One of my friends told me about this place a couple of years ago and I think it’s an awesome way to start this weekly food update.  So where do I start?  When you first try to enter this place, you have to cross through their outdoor seating area and it’s like you’re entering a whole new world.  It’s located down near Ventura where it’s kinda busy, but once you enter through the seating area, you say to yourself “Damn, I’m home…and it’s time to eat delicious hot dogs.”

[It’s a hot dog joint, but they’re freaking hot dog specialists here.]

At this place it’s all about good food and good atmosphere.  Everyone knows their hot dog business and are willing to give awesome suggestions.  I highly suggest coming here on a Thursday night; they’ve got live jazz during the summers and they have $1.5o beer on Mondays and $1.5o wine on Thursdays.  So step through the doors, order a Chicken Apple Sausage dog, order an ice cold…age-appropriate beverage, sit outside and soak it all in.  When you do all of that, you’ve just entered flavor country…population YOU.

GO ON MONDAYS…the stand dog is usually $3.25 and totally worth it.  It comes with three toppings of your choice and comes with freshly fried chips, but on Mondays it’s a FREAKING DOLLAR!!  You can either buy 32 oz. of gasoline, half a cup of coffee, or trade them in for 100 pennies, or you can have one of these bad-boys.

[Three toppings: Red Relish, Tomatoes, BBQ Sauce.  Mondays; $1.oo.]

[Chicken Apple Sausage; and comes with freshly made chips.]

If you’re ever in the valley, and want good food and good atmosphere, give this place a try.  I heartily endorse this place with 4 out of 5 thumbs.

Next week: Sabor a Mexico…
