Taste: /[5 Thumbs Up]

I’ve been coming to this place for the last 7 years and it’s one of my favorite places in the entire valley.  Good food, walls with people painted on them, the latest and greatest Mexican music coming out of a jukebox at 90 dB.  (Seriously, they crank the tunes on that thing.) If you already like artists like Adan Castillo Sanchez or Vicente Fernandez, then you can come for the music; but if you just want authentic Mexican food at a decent price, you can come to Sabor for that too.

[“Wow, they have the new Vicente Fernandez single?” Hell yes they do!]

But anyways, the food.  Seriously, if you want Mexican food, and I mean real Mexican food, you gotta hit this place up.  Their signature trait is making burritos with handmade flour tortillas, just like Mom used to make. [The previous statement only applies to people with moms that used to make tasty tortillas; the ones my mom used to make weren’t good at all.]  So the first thing you gotta do at this place is pick a type of meat and ask them to make a burrito out of it.

[Step 1: Choose a meat, ask for a burrito or taco version.]

[Step 2: Order burrito/taco from step 1 and ask for a large horchata (pronounced ‘or-chata’) say gracias for bonus points.]

[Step 3: Grab a seat under the fiesta mural and wait for food.]

Onto the actual food review.  It’s great.  The burritos are filled with perfectly cooked and juicy meat, beans, rice, onions, and a little bit of salsa roja.  They put in the perfect mix of ingredients ‘cuz you won’t feel any single ingredient jumping out at you, it all works together to make your brain go “Where have you been all my life?” The tacos are served in the traditional style of chopped meat, onions, salsa roja, and that’s it.  It may be barebones, but after eat 4 or 5 of these you’ll be in heaven.

[Crazy tasty…and I labeled this picture to avoid confusion.]

[The burrito’s a lot bigger than it seems.  His hands are 3 feet wide.]

[Scott Medieros enjoying a burrito…did I spell your last name right?]

Remember folks; open 24 hours, handmade tortillas, awesome food, Mexican/mariachi music.  Just go there already!!  I’ll even Google Maps it for you.  Directions…
