/[5 Thumbs Up]

[Look at this excited customer…eyes were blacked out for privacy.]
I was reading through the New England Journal of Medicine, and it states that “preliminary studies show that moderate sausage consumption throughout the course of a lifetime can lead to elevated levels of awesome. There also seems to be a direct correlation of chili consumption and overall well-being, and when taken in conjunction to hot dogs, may cause these following reactions: increased frequency of high-fives, chest bumps, fist pumps, and thumbs up. I am a real doctor.” So, I decided to test this study out by getting my fill of chili dogs from freaking Cupids.

[This is their entire menu…well, they have drinks and chips too.]
This place is ultra-bare bones. The building’s probably 15 feet by 15 feet and there’s only a couple of benches for seating. There’s also only 3 things on their entire menu: hot dog, chips, and soda. But, even though this place doesn’t have variety or other ammenities, if you ever want chili dogs in the valley this is the place to go. It’s quick, it’s cheap, it’s satisfying. It’s not going to win any gourmet cook-offs, but it’s an amazing hot dog joint. Now onto the food analysis.

[Cupids’ll take you from zero-to-chili dog bliss in 60 seconds.]
The bread’s always pillow-ey soft and moist and it sets up an awesome platform for the actual hot dog. This is where it gets interesting. These hot dogs have a certain “bite” to them. I’m not talking about them being spicy, but I’m talking about the pop that you hear and feel when you break the skin of these weiners. The only other dogs I’ve had do this were thick-skinned brautwurst or expensive sausages; and it’s cool to see a place pull off that perfect bit without costing you too much.
I’m starting to babel. But this place knows chili dogs, so when you got a hankering for some, freaking go to Cupid’s. Directions…
