Dood…it’s kinda out of my way, but I travelled all the way to Westwood for this week’s food review. But here it is: Diddy Riese. Man it’s so simple, just sell people tasty treats and charge them low, low prices and everyone’s happy. That’s seriously the short-hand description of Diddy Riese. It tastes good, and it’s cheap, and it tastes great, and it’s inexpensive. It is truely the quadruple-threat. (But I guess if you count the potential for health risks from sugary and fatty foods, then it’s a QUINTUPLE THREAT!!)

Yikes…they just started serving Hawaiian shaved ice and it’s so unbelievably good. You start with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and then top it with shaved ice and ask for up to three flavoured syrups. Global warming is generally a bad thing, but if it’s responsible for Diddy Riese making Hawaiian shaved ice all year round, I just may have to buy a Hummer. My gosh that was a terrible joke; but I love this Hawaiian shaved ice that much.

What to do at Diddy Riese:
- Choose one of 13 different ice creams.
- Choose two cookies.
- Pay the guy a $1.5o. That’s only 30 nickels!!
But the crowning achievement at this place is their cookie sandwiches. So simple, so good. Anytime you’re in the Westwood area and have some spare change, you’ve gotta make it down to Diddy Riese.
