24-Hour Stomach Flu

The day started off well-enough.  Woke up ridiculously early, felt good about the week, got some free breakfast, got some good deals on things I don’t need (but things that i’ll probably need in the future).  But things were going good until about 2:00pm.  I got tired and laid down for a while…and then it happened…all the bad signs of a Stomach Flu.  (See figure below. **Note: Observe the red ‘pain lines’.)

[This was the most awesome picture I found on the Stomach Flu.]

I’m not going to go into the details, but let’s just say it was not good.  Actually, it’s still not great right now.  I’m still pretty weak and I’ve got a slight headache, and last night was a mix of weird dreams, feeling really hot, and getting sleep in one hour intervals.  But the cool thing about it is that I was feeling well enough from 8 to 10pm to go out for a while and have some fun.

[A line-up of the suspected Stomach Flu pathogens…I think it was that blue one in the upper-right.  Please don’t accuse me of profiling guilt by color.]

All in all, the stomach flu really socked me all over the place.  But I am feeling much better and I still managed to have one of the best November 11ths I’ve ever had. Now for the best part…I’m gonna cook myself some delicious gruel (Jook) I got lazy and am gonna buy some from Galleria Market.  Still really good though. EDIT: They ran out of jook at Galleria and I eventually made my own.  Hahaha.

[Gruel’s gotten a bad reputation in the Western world, but for me, it’s one of the best comfort foods I can think of.]
